I have owned both the Glock 21SF Gen 3 and Glock 21 Gen 3 models. As an overly large man with big hands, the gun feels like a brick to hold. I love Glocks, I own a G19 and G34 which both fit the hand comfortably, but the G21 for as reliable as it is it just doesn’t seem to fit the hand as well. I would recommend looking for someone in your area with one to try it out before you buy. I keep buying them and selling them, I want to love the gun but I just don’t.

Between military, friends and my own guns I’ve shot a large selection of firearms. The article did a good job of prompting you of considering what do you want the tool to do, put them in your hand, shoot if possible. You can’t assume or drink others cool aid, what works for some won’t for others. There is always a trade off it seems; the 1911’s are classics and just like a classic car you better know how to turn a wrench. With over 200 parts and all the weight there is no free ride here but man when she runs she runs. You have to run a lot of SD HP ammo to establish reliability and number your mags. I prefer reliability first, weight, size, ergo, cost, etc. Remember I said I like em all; 1911 heavy, lots of parts, can be picky with HP, the more you stray from All steel and 5” brl the more finicky she can be. 1911 pros can be a bullseye gun, feels just right, light recoil in all steel gun. I have a S&W scandium frame 1911 4 1/4” brl that is a joy to carry, 1911 accuracy, but More recoil as expected and reliability is not where it needs to be even with factory FMJ, playing with mags, springs and ammo on going. Glock 21 too big for me, I have to shoot two handed for good grip( I’ve had numerous 21’s of different generations), accurate enough, recoil not bad,Solid gun, like all glocks trigger needs work, too big for conceal carry for me. Glock 36 with fulcrum trigger shoots one inch group at 10yds free hand, concealable,Lite, reliable, but slick grip, recoil in plus p is snappy and is the size of a G19 For low round count but I like her but never really carry except in house. Sig 220 is not as loved as a 1911 by others or me but digests a more diverse diet reliably, much lighter more so as the day goes on lol, has a really good stock trigger, grip is not bad at all, recoil is higher as expected and more muzzle flip(higher bore axis, weight). The recoil is a good bit more than the 1911, even the light weight ones but manageable.
It’s a big pistol to conceal and doesn’t seem to blend for me like a 1911. A solid gun and design overall. The S&W M&P seem to have a better feel , light, but seem to start shooting lose, trigger needs replacing, too big for me to conceal. The HK 45 DA/SA has great ergos and just chews up everything, pretty light and recoil is low for 45, quality, quality, durability is outstanding, the accuracy is just under 1911, this is a duty/battle firearm, BIG, but the DA trigger is looooooooooooong, heavvvvvvy, gritty, my wife can barely pull it, the recoil spring is stiff( difficult to cock for some, like my wife or the elderly), the SA trigger pull is manageable. If the HK 45 had a DA/SA trigger like the sig 220 it would be THE full size duty/battle pistol. The HK 45C is the pistol that would be the carry pistol to beat if the trigger wasn’t so bad. It is light, sized as good as can be, eats everything, accurate, shoots and shoots and…..durability is like the hk45/Glock 21 durable, The recoil is low for 45, very low for its size, ergos work well, if this gun had a sig DA/SA trigger I would sell a lot of 45’s and carry it. The DA trigger was described by another as Take a center block and place on rough concrete, tie a string around it and a trigger, now pull the trigger and imagine A loooooong heavy rough pull and that’s it. The hk45 and 45C come in LEM and I can’t attest to that system, but why on earth they built such a master piece around those triggers is criminal, such a waste. If hk corrects it or ever creates a hk 45c striker system equal to the hk vp9 I will be carrying it.
So like a lot of people we compromise. A all steel 1911 can be carried for short periods comfortably, the shorter brl aluminum/ scandium frame 1911 more comfortable but I accept reliability Is less, the Glock/ m&p reliable but not quite Wright, the sig 220 is hard to hide but good overall otherwise, the hk 45c is amazing but I want to slap the trigger department at hk, make a hk Vp45 the size of a 45 c or a striker fired 45c hk!

I have many Glocks 9s, 357s, has anyone shot the Glock 21 if so how about some feed back. Thanks I’m a disabled combat Nam vet carried a colt for 2 tours there.

Secondly, thanks for showing other options to buy!

However they left the best one off the list….. The Walther PPQ .45
In my opinion, a gross oversight. I mean come on.

Hello,

The picture meant to convey a Sig Sauer logo on a handgun, just like the rest of images in brand section. There weren’t many of these type of pictures available so we settled with a Sig Sauer logo on an airgun.

Not sure why it was pictured. I have been a firm believer in a real gun looking like a real gun, a toy like a toy and then a universal color for airsoft guns to be easily recognized as such.
